Call-out for artists and creative individuals to exhibit or present at the Jewish Museum of Australia

Are you an educator, innovator or artist?
We want to hear from you! Our Museum is offering a unique, exciting opportunity for artists and creatives to propose new projects as part of our ongoing program of exhibitions and public events for diverse audiences.
This is your chance to showcase your work or to create innovative and varied programming
during the summer period at our award-winning Museum. It’s also a unique opportunity to work
with museum curators and educators to deliver high quality experiences from Novemberr 2018
to March 2019.
To register your interest, send us a proposal keeping in mind the criteria listed below. If your
proposal is selected, we will invite you to pitch your idea in person with museum staff.
Your proposal will be assessed on the following criteria:
• contains content related to Jewish culture (our mission is to “engage people with Jewish
culture’’)
• is of a high standard and shows innovation
• includes opportunity for audience engagement
• clarity of intended artistic execution and practicality/ feasibility
Who we are looking for:
• Visual artists to exhibit own work
• Artist(s) in residence to work at the Museum and interact with visitors
• Artists and/or creative individuals to deliver programs to diverse audience
• Educators/innovators/artists to deliver programs for children as part of our school
holidays program
What we can offer:
For exhibitions and artist in residence
• Your work exhibited in our largest and most prestigious gallery
• Use of the gallery as your studio for artist in residence program
• Honorary fee
• Contribution towards cost of material
• Curatorial support
• Marketing & graphic design to promote exhibition/artist in residence program
For programs
• Use of our space to deliver workshop/activity/session/performance (includes basic AV
equipment and furniture)
• 80/20 box office split in your favour (after costs)
• Contribution towards cost of material
• Programming support
• Marketing & graphic design to promote program
