Limited by time visitors are often driven to pack as much value into a visit to a gallery or museum by seeing as much as possible. Instead of looking at an object with a cursory glance this program invites us to consider a different way to experience collections and exhibitions. That is s-l-o-w-l-y.
Join museum and gallery educators, collectors and a researcher at Justin Art House Museum, Prahran, for presentations about the ‘slow movement’ and engagement with objects that allow for a deeper consideration and connection with cultural materials in a more profound way.
This program includes a viewing of Justin Art House Museum exhibition Black and White and Red All Over and refreshments.
Our hosts for this program are Charles and Leah Justin.
Presenters are:
- Sarah Pink, Distinguished Professor, at the School of Media and Communications, RMIT
- Sue Burgess, Education Manager at the Shrine of Remembrance;
- Christine Healey, Curator Education and Community Learning at the Incinerator Gallery; and
- Charles and Leah Justin, house-museum owners and collectors at Justin Art House Museum
