Dear Fellow Museum Educators,
After a very successful calendar of events in 2018, ENVi has an engaging program in the works for 2019.
In March we plan to run an event about Creating Powerful Learning Resources. We are inviting some experts to share their wisdom about what content and modes of delivery are most appropriate for modern school audiences. This will be run in conjunction with the SPP Humanities and Visual Arts networks.
CardiParty meets ENVi will be hosted at the Incinerator Gallery at 11am on Saturday 13 April in conjunction with newCardigan. The event will include a short explanation of the architecture and site history, then discussion will focus on education and learning in GLAM institutions.
The annual Winter Masterpieces MAVic and Envi event is planned for Friday 19 July and will feature the Terracotta Warriors and Cai Guo Quing
In August we are hoping to conduct an event focusing on best evaluation practices.
Finally, in October we will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the museum education network.
We have a full year of exciting events ahead of us! Please understand that these details are subject to change but we hope to see you often throughout the year.
On another note – we congratulate our very own Ian Watts on receiving an OAM for services to museums and galleries. Ian has had a distinguished career and has been a stalwart of museum education networks for 40+ years.
With regards,
Pete Hoban
Envi President
Dear Peter
Thank you so much for this information. I have just joined the network and the programme for the year ahead looks great. I like the sound of the programme in March.
And, wonderful news too about Ian Watts.
Kind regards
Helen
